Mr. Metzger's 6th Grade Science students were able to meet Dakota New Meteorologist - Lexie Merley. Ms. Merley was able to discuss her role as a meteorologist and storm chaser. She showed the various weather models she uses and discussed numerous weather/climate concepts that students will study in the upcoming unit. HBC 5th grade students began social studies unit on Native Peoples of North America. Our first lessons dives into the Ancient Cultures of the Aztec and Maya. We have found out that there are many differences and even some similarities between our cultures! One of the similar passions is sports!
The Aztec and Maya 5th grade teams played a game called Pok-A-Tok. The 5th graders channeled their inner Aztec and Maya today and tried the game out! Goal = hit the ball through the hoop. #HBCLearns #Patriotpride

Hannah Swenson (Fick) a recent H-BC graduate was a guest speaker in the Power Mechanics CTE (career and technical education) class on Monday. Hannah discussed trade careers and her career as an electrician. She discussed basic & complex circuits, safety and electrical work on new and existing residential/commercial buildings.
