Happy 4th of July Week Patriots! Last week was a EXTREMELY PATRIOTIC week for some of our HBC 8th & 9th grade students and families as we traveled to our Nation's Capital - Washington D.C with World Classroom! The 4-day trip was packed with rich history, unforgettable fun, and powerful reminders of the brave individuals who have sacrificed for our country. Here are some pictures & details from our trip we shared with Edgerton Public.
Their journey began with visits to the U.S. Capitol followed by students enjoying a scenic Tidal Basin walk while visiting the MLK Jr. & FDR Memorials.
On Day 2, students visited Arlington National Cemetery, witnessing the Changing of the Guard and paying respects at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and JFK’s Eternal Flame. They explored the Marine Corps War Memorial - Iwo Jima, the impactful Holocaust Memorial Museum, and and several other memorials: Vietnam, Korean War, Lincoln, Jefferson and the Reflecting Pool at National Mall. We also saw President Trump's motorcade after his return from the NATO Summit.
Day 3 took the group to Gettysburg National Military Park, where they viewed the Cyclorama, museum exhibits, and a HOT battlefield tour. We returned to DC to visit the White House, Washington Memorial and WWII Memorial.
The final day included tours of the BRAND NEW Army Museum, George Washington’s Mount Vernon, and time exploring the world-renowned Smithsonian Museums - Natural History & American History.
It was a memorable & HOT week full of history, learning, and patriotism! Go Patriots & Go U.S.A.! Happy 4th of July! #Patriotpride
