MCA Math this Week for 6th/7th/8th & 11th Graders

Tuesday (4/16) & Wednesday (4/17) are the MCA Math Assessments - Students in Grades 6,7,8 and 11th will be taking the MCA Math Assessments during 1st & 2nd Periods on both Tuesday & Wednesday.

Students should do the following:

  1. Get a Good Night Sleep Monday & Tuesday Night.

  2. Eat a Healthy Breakfast Tuesday and Wednesday Morning - School will provide a FREE warm & healthy breakfast on those days.

  1. Make sure Chromebook is charged for MCA Testing.  Students can use headphones with an auxiliary cable (no bluetooth headphones are allowed).  Please bring headphones with auxiliary cable as this allows students to hear the questions (math & science) or whitenoise.

  1. Have a chapter book to read when the test is completed.

Please encourage your student(s) to 'Do Your Best' and 'Take Your Time' - These tests are a good indicator if students are at-grade level & give important information to our teachers.

These important tests are NOT timed and will show your student(s)' his/her proficiency level at state math standards compared to grade-level peers across the state.

FREE Activities this Spring & Summer

For the 23-24 school year (Current Year), ALL secondary students will NOT have to pay the dues/fees for the following activities: Spring Sports (golf & track), summer speed camp and also the choir/band trip to Valley Fair. This past month the Hills-Beaver Creek school board voted to waive the fees for the following after-school activities - Track, Golf, Summer Speed Camp & Choir/Band Trip to Valley Fair.   This is a one time event, fees will be reinstated for the 24-25 school year.  Reimbursements will/have been sent to those families that already had paid for events.

We are hoping this encourages all of our students to participate and be involved.
