H-BC Elementary Families:
Happy New Year! We almost have a week under our belt already into the new year! How about that? Thank you all for your flexibility and understanding with all the weather related postponed and canceled events! It is early and the weather has been a bit of a challenge. We are in this together!
FACILITY SURVEY RESULTS: Here is the link to the results of the Facility Survey that many folks took in November. Survey RESULTS LINK. The survey had a 30% completion rate, which is quite remarkable in the world of surveys. The Hill-Beaver Creek Board of Education continues to work through the items recommended within the survey and the District Stakeholder recommendations. Stay tuned.
END of The 2nd Quarter/1st Semester: Thursday, January 19th marks the end of the 2nd quarter and first semester
ELEMENTARY BASKETBALL CAMP INFORMATION: PRE-K AND K AND GRADES 1 AND 2 Camp information found here: CAMP LINK There has been a change to meeting times. The TIMES CHANGED to 8 am Pre-K and K runs from 8 am- 8:50 am and Grades 1 and 2 runs from 9 am until 10 am. FORMS ARE DUE TUESDAY, JANUARY 10.
BEGINNING of 3rd quarter 2nd Semester: Friday, January 20th is the start of the 3rd quarter and 2nd Semester.
DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. DAY:
H-BC Elementary recognizes Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, January 16. SCHOOL IN SESSION. Your child’s classroom teacher will be spending time during the day recognizing Dr. King.
EARLY DISMISSAL FRIDAY, JANUARY 20:
H-BC is scheduled for a 12:45 Dismissal
NO SCHOOL:
No School for students, Monday, January 23, 2023. This is a professional development day for staff
EARLY CHILDHOOD FAMILY EDUCATION: Our ECFE Program is a great way for parents to spend quality time with their child. Children ages 0-5 are welcome to H-BC Elementary School each month from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. Mark your calendar for these upcoming dates: January 10 & 24. Please contact m.ellingson@isd671.net with any questions.
PARENT NOTIFICATION SYSTEM: We are again using the JMC Parent Notification System to inform you of weather related late starts and other items of importance at Hills-Beaver Creek Schools. This system is reliable, however please keep an eye on other avenues as well, such as AM 800 or FM 101.5, and Sioux Falls television/websites: KELO, KDLT and KSFY.
AFTER SCHOOL CARE: PEAC - Patriot Enrichment After School Care is available for “regulars” and “drop-ins”. Call the office or email Mrs. Voss for more information: t.voss@isd671.net
