H-BC Families:

Its been a great week at H-BC Elementary School.  Remember no school next Friday, October 21. 

NATIONAL SCHOOL LUNCH WEEK:  H-BC Celebrated National School Lunch Week - Oct. 10-14. Thanks to Mrs. Burgers, Mrs. Blank, Mrs. Johnson, and Mrs. Durst for bringing us lunch!  More information found-

FIRE PREVENTION WEEK:  Our thanks to Jake Rauk and members of the Beaver Creek Fire Department for helping teach our students about fire safety and prevention.


COMMUNICATION:  If your child will be absent, changing end of the day plans or being picked up, the best way to communicate is to send the email to your child’s teacher and the office As always, morning bussing changes are directed to our Bus Line at 507-962-3240.  Your communication assures our full team is aware of the plan for your child.

OCTOBER IS BULLYING PREVENTION MONTH:  Mrs. Breuer has been visiting each classroom sharing an anti-bullying message.  Wednesday, October 19th, we will wear orange to recognize Unity Day and the need to stop bullying.

VOLLEYBALL CAMP BEGINS SATURDAY:  Students in grades K-5, who registered for Volleyball Camp, begin this Saturday, October 15.  Participants will meet at the Jr/Sr High School in Hills.   K-2nd grade: 9:00-10:15am and 3rd-5th grade:10:15-11:30am.  Shirts for each participant will be sent home today.  The camp will run October 15, 22 and 29.  Campers have also been invited to interact with the Jr/Sr High Volleyball team at the home game on Monday, October 17th.

EARLY CHILDHOOD FAMILY EDUCATION:   Our ECFE Program is a great way for parents to spend quality time with their child.  Children ages 0-5 are welcome to H-BC Elementary School each month from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm.  Mark your calendar for these upcoming dates:  October 25, November 15, November 29 and December 13.  Please contact with any questions.

CHILD CENSUS:  If you or someone you know has recently moved to the H-BC District, or if there is a new addition to your family, the school needs the information to update our child census information.  Please email with the information.  Thank you!

FALL FESTIVAL: The inflatables are returning!  We will have fun events planned for Friday, October 28.  Thanks to the H-BC Elementary PTO for their support!

ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM:  With winter months coming, Southwestern Minnesota Opportunity Council, Inc. wants to ensure all households eligible for energy or water bill assistance have access to help.   H-BC Offices do have the Application Forms for anyone interested.  Here is the link for more information: 

SNOW PANT & COAT GIVEAWAY:  Thanks to a generous donation, we have a supply of snow pants & coats to give away.  Please call H-BC Elementary to inquire.

PICTURE MAKEUP DAY:  MWF Little Patriot Academy makeup day is set for November 2, for those who didn’t take their picture at the Open House.

AM DROP OFF:  If it’s raining or you don't see our school staff on the playground in the morning, please drop your student off at Door #1 on the North Side of the School.
