H-BC Families:

We are running smoothly at H-BC Elementary School!  It has been such a great first week seeing all of our students back with us!  I am so excited to see what the year has in store for us!  

FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS!  The HBC Football home opener is happening tonight!  Pork chop tailgate meal $7 starting at 6pm.  Kick off is at 7:00 pm.

PTO VIKING TICKET RAFFLE: To kick off fall, the PTO is doing a raffle for one VERY BIG PRIZE. The winner will receive 4 tickets (lower level, row 13) to the VIkings vs. Bears football game on Sunday, Oct. 9 at US Bank Stadium. The prize package includes a $250 Marriott Hotels voucher. The PTO will be selling raffle tickets at the football game this evening ($10 each or 6 for $50). Tickets will also be sent home with students on Monday. Each student will receive 6 tickets. They can purchase them or sell them to family members. Tickets that are sold and the cash or checks need to be returned to the elementary school office by Thursday, Sept. 22. The drawing will be held during halftime of the homecoming football game on Friday. Sept. 23. Last minute tickets can be purchased at the volleyball game and first half of the football game that night.

BIG SIOUX YOUTH BASKETBALL LEAGUE:   H-BC Community Ed will once again assist in coordinating teams for the Big Sioux Youth Basketball League.  If your child, in grades 3-6, is interested in playing, please return the form sent home earlier this week.

SECOND ENTREE PURCHASE: New This Year:  Students in grades K-5 may purchase a second entree with their meal.  The entree is $1.50.  Students with a free or reduced meal benefits must pay the $1.50 out of pocket.   Students must tell their teacher they want to purchase a second entree when they take the lunch count in the morning.

MONDAY ELEMENTARY PARKING:  The City of Beaver Creek will be sealing the streets on Monday, September 12.  Staff and visitors will need to park on the grass east of the building or on county road on the west side of the building.

ACTION NEEDED:  If you haven’t done so already, please fill out the free and reduced lunch applications otherwise known as “Application for Educational Benefits”.  If you qualify this benefit will assist your family financially, this application is needed.   Registration link found here: https://tinyurl.com/y5yz9soj

JMC REGISTRATION:  Thanks to all the parents and families that completed their student online registration through JMC.  It is an easy way for the school to collect the necessary information for school enrollment.  If you have not yet completed registration for your student please do so as soon as possible.  Log into www.hbc.onlinejmc.com.  If you receive a message from the school stating all or a portion of your students registration is incomplete, please act promptly!  Call the office with questions 507-673-2541

AFTER SCHOOL CARE:  PEAC - Patriot Enrichment After School Care is available for “regulars” and “drop-ins”.   Call the office or email Mrs. Voss for more information: t.voss@isd671.net

PATRIOT DAY-- September 11 is Patriot Day!  21 years ago, we remember.  Never forget.  Good time to have a discussion with your student!

AM BUS CHANGES--For morning bus changes please call the HBC  bus line--make sure to identify your student and the bus number they are riding:  507-962-3240

AM DROP OFF:  If it’s raining or you don't see our school staff on the playground in the morning, please drop your student off at Door #1 on the North Side of the School.  

SUMMER READING: All Summer Reading Bingo Forms need to be turned in on Monday, Sept. 12.

PICTURE MAKEUP DAY:  Photography by Mark will be back Tuesday, September 27, for those who did not take their picture at our Open House.  MWF Little Patriot Academy makeup day will be November 2.

HOMECOMING:   NEW THIS YEAR - The H-BC Homecoming parade will be at 11:00 am in Hills.  See the route below.  Following the parade, elementary students have a picnic in Hills followed by attendance at the varsity volleyball game at the H-BC Secondary School in Hills at 12:30.

HOMECOMING DRESS UP DAYS:  We look forward to seeing all the dress up days creativity.  Parents, please be sure costume dress is modest and weapons (toy or real) are NOT sent to school. See the link above for the dress up day schedule.

EYE BLACK SALES: The PTO is selling eye-blacks for Homecoming.  Here is the LINK for the form that was also sent home. If you wish to purchase, return the form and money next week.
