On Monday, January 17th, We recognized the achievements of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at school. Mr. VanWyhe’s 3rd graders expressed their own dreams:
Thank You Sanford Luverne: We thank Sanford - Luverne Medical Clinic for their generous gift in recognition of National CRNA week. A large amount of cold weather gear was donated to share with students in need. Please let us know if your child could benefit.
Parent/Teacher Conferences: On Thursday, February 17, Elementary Parents will be contacted by your child’s teacher for a scheduled conference time. Conferences at the elementary school are for select students. If you were not scheduled, and would like to visit with your child’s teacher, please contact the Teacher.
Wellness and Well Being: Please continue to pay close attention to your child’s health and symptoms daily. Use the screener that is listed below and when in doubt call the school office with questions..
Children’s Dental Services: See the attached is Rock/Nobles County Dental Service information.
Pre-K - 2nd Grade Basketball Camp: Camp continues Saturday, February, 22, 29 and February 5 & 12. Pre-K & Kindergarten -12:00 pm to 12:50 pm, Grades 1 & 2 - 1:00 pm - 1:50 pm. Note: The Camp will be held at the Jr/Sr High School in Hills. Registration & Payments are due before Thursday, January 13th. See the form below.
Early Childhood Family Education: ECFE classes will continue in January on Tuesday nights. ECFE is designed for families with children from birth to five. For more information contact Macy Ellingson at m.ellingson@isd671.net.

NUT AWARE SCHOOL: H-BC Elementary School is a peanut/tree nut allergy aware area. There will be no classroom projects with peanut butter or peanut shells. Please do not send any of these projects into the classroom with your child. It is our hope that parents, who send a lunch from home for their child, CHOOSE NOT TO send foods containing peanut butter or nuts.
