H-BC Elementary School Families:

 

Teacher Appreciation Week:  Happy Teacher Appreciation Week, May 3-7!  H-BC is fortunate to have great teachers!  Please join me in thanking them for their hard work.   Attached are suggestions for showing appreciation!

One Book One School H-BC Elementary is participating in participating in One Book, One School. We are reading the book Wonder by R.J. Palacio.  Students at H-BC Elementary will be reading this book at all grade levels.  It’s a great way to celebrate the success of an individual that is “different”.  Many life lessons are taught.  Ask your child about Wonder.  Each class and subject area will have many different activities surrounding this book for the entire month of May.  

Thank you to the H-BC Elementary PTO for their generous purchase of books for our grades 3-5 students and staff members.

Elementary Book FAIR

The elementary book fair will be open next week during the school day. Students can shop during their scheduled library time and during recess. Items range from $1 to $20. Students can pay with cash or check. If you have any questions or need any help getting to the fair, contact Mrs. Moore at l.moore@isd671.net.

The school keeps 60% of the money spent at the fair. That money is used to purchase books for the elementary school library.

 

Summer Basketball Camp Registration:

Current students in grades 3-8 are invited to attend this year’s camp led by Coach Kale Wiertzema and members of the High School Basketball teams. The camp is June 7-10.  3rd-5th grade-8-10am and 6th-8th grade-12:00pm at the jr/sr high school in Hills.  Registration deadline is May 21.

 

Summer Swimming Registration:

H-BC is pleased to again be coordinating Summer Swimming Lessons through Luverne Area Aquatics & Fitness.  Registration forms were sent home.  Lessons will be June 21-July 1, 8:45-9:25 am.  Students 5 years and older, my register. The fee is $32.  Parents may also sign their child up for the daily transportation for $20.  Registration deadline is May 13.
