H-BC Elementary School Families:
We are into February!
Here is a reminder to double check your child’s cold weather apparel. It’s cold out there!
Our 100th day of school is set for Tuesday, February 9.
Parent Teacher Conferences are set for Thursday, February 11 afternoon and evening, by invitation only. Times are from 3:15 until 7:30 pm. You should have received an invitation. If you would like to meet with your child’s teacher and haven’t received an invitation please contact your child’s teacher.
H-BC ELEMENTARY STUDENT Gavin Harnack was selected to be a part of the 2021 Elementary Festival Honor Choir in Brookings this year! Congratulations!
Students will be exchanging Valentines on Thursday, February 11.
School Pictures
Thursday, February 11th, Lifetouch will be at the Elementary School to take student photos. Only those students that wish to have their picture taken participate. Packets to order were sent home yesterday, Thursday, February 4.

In Person Learning Continues:

Elementary Basketball Camp: The Camp, for 4 year olds through 3rd grade, continues tomorrow, Saturday, February 6 for those students who registered. We are limited to only students and coaches in the gymnasium.
4 year olds & K: 8:00 - 8:45

The Minnesota Energy Assistance Program (EAP) can help
Too many low-income Minnesotans have to choose between paying their energy bill and other necessities - food, medicine and healthcare. Minnesota’s Energy Assistance Program offers eligible residents help to pay their energy bills so they do not have to choose between life’s necessities. Spread the word.
Energy Assistance Program (EAP) facts
§ Renters & homeowners are eligible.
§ Assets such as the home are not considered in determining eligibility.
§ Grants range from $300 to $1,600, based on household size, income, and fuel cost.
§ The average grant is about $550.
§ In addition to the initial grant, additional Crisis funds are available to:
- Help pay a past due bill or get an emergency fuel delivery.
- Help homeowners get their broken furnace repaired or replaced.
How to apply for EAP
§ Households contact their local EAP service provider to apply for EAP.
§ Households find their EAP provider:
- By calling 1-800-657-3710 & entering their zip code, or
- On this list of service providers by county or tribe at https://mn.gov/commerce/consumers/consumer-assistance/energy-assistance/eap-provider.jsp.
§ 29 local EAP service providers including Community Action Programs, counties, tribal governments and non-profits serve all areas of the state.
