HBC Secondary Bulletin

H-BC Secondary Families:

It’s already the midterm of Quarter 2!   This halfway point is a great time to check your student(s)’ grades on JMC.  Family engagement is an extremely important factor for student success.  If you need help adding the JMC app to your smartphone, logging onto JMC, remembering your password, please call HBC Secondary at 507-962-3240.  We would love to help you out and it works on any Smartphone or device.

As I mentioned last week, please remember to reach out to our staff and thank them for their hard work if you haven’t done so already during this holiday season.  We are still in school and this is largely due to our staff going above and beyond to clean, move their classroom to bigger areas if they have more than 20 students, provide masks breaks, remind students to put their mask above their nose, remind students to socially distance and repeat each day with a smile while TEACHING.   Personally, I feel extremely blessed and grateful that my son and daughter are still in school at HBC with their friends and teachers.  Please join me in showing thanks to our amazing staff by sending them a personal thank you message.

Here are some pictures from this past week.

Advisory Update - Giving Back to Our School and Community (New)

Our secondary advisories have been busy in the month of December with learning and brainstorming ways they can show gratitude.   Giving back (volunteering) is a way to give back to the community you are part of and a great way to show gratitude.   Each advisory has been giving a challenge to think of ways you can give back to our communities we are part of and act upon it. Here are some of their ideas.

Ms. Anderson’s freshmen advisory made these Christmas center pieces for the Tuff Memorial Home.

The 6th grade advisory wrote encouraging notes on the lockers of EVERY student.

The sophomore advisory wrote thank you notes to our staff and hung them in the hallway.

Some students cleaned up all the trash around the HBC Secondary outdoor campus.
