MCA TESTING

MCA Testing was completed this week. A lot of work went into it, from the teachers facilitating, the students testing, and the parents for making sure their students were well rested and prepared. Thank you for making this process run smoothly! Results will come out next Fall.

  7. Thursday, May 14, 2026 - Last School Day for Seniors

  8. Friday, May 15, 2026 - Senior Class Trip to MOA

  9. Sunday, May 17, 2026 - Baccalaureate - 2 PM (Commons)

  10. Thursday, May 21, 2026 - Academic Awards Banquet 12:50 - 1:50 PM (Gym) 

  11. Friday, May 22, 2026 - Last Day of School for students in 6-11th grade

  12. Friday, May 22, 2026 - Class of 2026 Commencement 7 PM

2026-2027 School Year Schedule & Registration

This past week our 8th - 11th grade students registered for classes for the 2026 - 2027 School Year.   Some important notes for the 26-27 schedule. 

 

  • Traditional 8 Period Day  (46 minute class periods) and 5 minutes passing

  • Students in 6th/7th/8th Grade will be in a Middle School Model Schedule where all grade levels visit different teachers for their core classes: Math/Reading/Science/Social Studies

  • Career Readiness Class is a semester class for 7th & 8th graders. Students will explore over 14 careers throughout 7th and 8th grade   

  • 6th Graders will have Physical Education Class every day (taught by Ms. Bosch)

  • 6th Graders will have a semester class called Middle Level Ready & Nutrition.  Students will learn about valuable middle school skills like keeping a planner, staying organized, study skills, goal setting & nutrition and wellness.  

  • Strength & Speed offered to Freshmen-Seniors (taught by Mr. DeBoer and Ms. Bosch)

  • College Biology will be taught by Ms. Untiedt and offered to Juniors and Seniors 

  • Due to legislative changes that require Civics and Economics to be taught in 11th grade, the 9th graders will be taking World History and the 10th graders will be taking US History & Geography.  The seniors will be taking Personal Finance and Government.

  • Students who are taking PSEO classes will also get 1 study hall

  • Seniors can sign up to be a Peer Tutor at the Secondary (1 period) or the Elementary (2 periods)

CEO TRADE SHOW

The CEO Trade Show was held on Wednesday, May 6 from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Big Top Event Center in Luverne. The students created and displayed their business ventures, and it was a great way to celebrate all of their hard work and accomplishments!

FUTURE EDUCATOR LETTER OF INTENT SIGNING

Congratulations to our Future Educators!  We will celebrate them on Monday, May 11th, 2026 at 7:30 AM.  

UPCOMING EVENT FOR PARENTS AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS

Southwest Health and Human Services is hosting HIPS (Hidden In Plain Sight), an interactive prevention tool designed to help adults identify signs of substance use and better understand current youth trends. This event supports broader prevention efforts by increasing awareness, strengthening protective factors, and helping communities respond early. The event will take place on Wednesday, May 27 at the Big Top Tents & Events Center. Doors open @ 5:30 PM, Presentation @ 6:30PM.
