Dear Families:
We are currently heading into the last three days of the school year! It has been a great year at H-BC Elementary! Thanks to all of our great teachers, staff, and families! Thank you all for the successes we are able to realize at our school! At this point in time, it is still looking as though we will be vacating the current elementary school building and heading over to 510 Patriot Lane to the new HBC Elementary School. As I have said before, the building does not make the school, it is the people affiliated with the school that make it. Now don’t get me wrong, a building is a great tool that will assist greatly in achieving learning success.
What will happen to the current facility? The Board of Education is continuing to investigate possibilities. The building may be sold to another entity, demolished or some other avenue may be taken to liquidate the building and the property. Please stay tuned for further updates! It has been a great building with many memories!
2025-2026 OPEN HOUSE: Please mark your calendar for the 2025-2026 School Year Open House in the new elementary school building located at 510 Patriot Lane, Beaver Creek, MN is scheduled for Wednesday, August 27 from 5:30 pm-7:30 pm. Looking forward to seeing you all at this event!
CLASS OF 2025 GRADUATES MAKE A VISIT: The H-BC Senior Class came for one last walk through in the halls of H-BC Elementary. The elementary students cheered and wished them well as they graduate.
** Elementary Puppy Relays - RESCHEDULED FOR WEDNESDAY, MAY 21--NOTE WEATHER PERMITTING--THE SCHOOL WILL MAKE A DETERMINATION AS SOON IN ADVANCE AS POSSIBLE. The event is south of the elementary school in the ball field.

TIME CAPSULE OPENINGS: The Time Capsule, found at the original secondary school in Hills, will be opened immediately following the 10:30 am Friendship Days Parade in Hills on Saturday, June 14. Join Us on Main Street in Hills for the opening of the 1921 Time Capsule.
On Monday, May 19, the Elementary Staff and Students will try to uncover the time capsule at the current Elementary School in Beaver Creek. If found, it will be opened at Beaver Creek Days on August 2.
BIKE RODEO: Saturday, May 17 at 10:00 am, is the annual Luverne Optimist Club Bike Rodeo. The event is held in the Blue Mound Ice Arena parking lot in Luverne. Children can have their bike inspected and repaired. LOTS OF FABULOUS PRIZES including new bikes from Second Mile Bicycles.
2ND GRADE READERS THEATRE: Mrs. Edmundson’s 2nd graders did a wonderful job this week presenting their Readers Theatre to H-BC staff, students on Tuesday and to their parents/guests on Thursday.
FIELD TRIPS: Our students are having a great time with the annual end of year field trips. Mrs. Moore’s Horizon’s students visited the Sanford Promise in Sioux Falls to study Oxidation.
PATRIOT PALS CHILD CARE CENTER
Patriot Pals is now accepting enrollment for the opening of the HBC school district's new daycare center. Patriot Pals will be open M-F from 6:30-5:30 and accept children ages 6 weeks to Kindergarten.
