H-BC Elementary Families:
Another exciting week at H-BC Elementary School! I’m so pleased this time of year with all of the activity! Make sure to have a look at all the testing information as we embark on grades 3-5 MCA testing this week. More information found below. Thanks to all for making our school great!
ECLIPSE OF THE SUN: I believe we will be on track to see about a 70% eclipse of the Sun on Monday at about 1:50 pm. Thank you to the PTO for purchasing the eclipse glasses for students to view. All classes will be outside during the eclipse to view this momentous occasion! Please ask your child what they say.
MCA GRADES 3-5 ASSESSMENTS: Spring Testing is an important time to check progress for our students. Please click this LINK to see our HBC Assessment Calendar. This will give you an idea when each assessment is scheduled for ACTs, MCAs and NWEAs. BREAKFAST SERVED TO ALL GRADES 3-5 STUDENTS ON TESTING DAYS.
MCA Testing Dates
Reading (grades 3-5) - April 9-10
Math (grades 3-5) - April 16-17
Science (grade 5) - April 23-24
GRADES 3-5 MUSIC CONCERT: The grades 3-5 Spring Concert is Monday, April 15th at 7:00 pm at H-BC Elementary School. Doors open at 6:45 pm and Vocal Music Students are instructed to find their reserved seats with their classmates in the bleachers. Band students will report to the band room at 6:50 with Mrs. Comp. Students are encouraged to wear something nice. Spring colors, dresses, polos or button up shirts work well. Please email Mrs. Kolles with any questions: a.kolles@isd671.net
NATIONAL LIBRARY IN SCHOOL THIS WEEK: Thank you to Mrs. Moore for her passion and support of our school libraries. Way to go Mrs. Moore!

NATIONAL SEVERE WEATHER WEEK IS APRIL 8-12: H-BC Elementary classrooms will be discussing how we can be safe during severe weather. All in attendance will also participate in a tornado drill on Thursday, April 11.

SPRING ROBOTICS CAMP: Registration is now open for 4th grade students to participate in Spring Robotics at H-BC. See the district newsletter or call the office for more information.
LITTLE PATRIOT FAMILY FORMAL/MINI PROM: The class of 2026 Parents & H-BC Elementary PTO are sponsoring a Little Patriot Family Formal on Saturday, April 27. See the district newsletter for the details.

EARLY CHILDHOOD FAMILY EDUCATION: Join us at the H-BC Elementary School for ECFE Class. Bring your 0-5 age children, 6:00 -7:30 pm. The upcoming dates are: April 9, 23 & May 7. Classes do not require advanced registration
