H-BC Families:
Next week we have a short week of school. School is in session Monday-Wednesday. NO School Thursday- 10/19 and Friday- 10/20.
October is filled with special opportunities for learning. Students will learn about Fire Prevention Week (8-14), Bus Safety Week (16-20) and Bully Prevention Month. These are important topics for home discussion as well.
OCTOBER IS BULLY PREVENTION MONTH: Classroom teachers and Mrs. Breur have been leading discussions with students on what each of us can do to promote kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. Wednesday, October 18, everyone is encouraged to wear ORANGE to recognize the month.
PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES: Be on the lookout for P/T Conference Sign Ups. Conferences are being held the evenings of Thursday, November 9 and November 14. This is a great opportunity for parents to meet with their child’s teacher to discuss student progress.
SUMMER READING CHALLENGE: Students in grades K-6 who completed a Summer Reading Bingo Blackout received their shirts and books this week. Thank you to the Security Savings Bank for sponsoring our program and to all the families who shopped at last year's elementary book fair. Your donations helped purchase the new books.

FLU SHOT CLINIC: Thank you to Mrs. Leenderts and the Sanford Staff for hosting the Flu Vaccine Clinic at H-BC Schools, Wednesday, October 11. The on-site clinic is a wonderful convenience!

AM DROP OFF: If it’s raining or you don't see our school staff on the playground in the morning, please drop your student off at Door #1 on the North Side of the School.
