H-BC Secondary Families:
Week #2 Complete! Wow! Time flies when we are together, learning and having fun. Here are some of the secondary highlights from Week #2. We are making the best of the situation and continuing to practice the Minnesota Department of Health Guidelines.
Thank you for all you have done to help keep us in school! Please continue to remind your student to keep their mask on and over their nose and to socially distance. As numbers go up in Rock County, we need to do what we can to STAY IN SCHOOL.

COVID-19 Update - Do you send Your Student to School or Not?
As the school year is in full swing across the state, we are noticing that there is confusion about when students or staff members should stay home from school and for how long. There is confusion between the distinctions of when individuals are sick and/or experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 and when they have been exposed to a confirmed case of COVID-19. We highly encourage everyone to review the COVID-19 decision tree exclusion guidance, as it’s called, which lays out a number of scenarios and appropriate steps for children, students and staff.
DO NOT FORGET TO SCREEN YOUR STUDENT REMINDER: Make sure to screen your child everyday, prior to coming to school! Your assistance is greatly appreciated!

MASKS and SOCIAL DISTANCING: Please continue to send your student with a CLEAN mask each day. The masks should be worn over the mouth and nose. This is extremely important for keeping everyone safe. Please continue to remind your student to socially distance. It is extremely important to keep our students in school. We can only do this if everyone is doing their part.
DOORS Open at 7:45 AM - Secondary doors do not open until 7:45 AM to allow teachers to prepare for the school day. Please do not send your student(s) before 7:45 if possible. Students should begin to dress warm as the temperatures are cooler.

FFA Meeting - Monday, September 21st, 7:00 - 8:00 PM
9th - 12th Grade FFA Members are invited to the first FFA Meeting at HBC Secondary. The meeting will be on the north side of the building by the picnic tables. There will be food (pizza) and fun (yard games).
H-BC Secondary Picture Day!--Tuesday, September 22nd.
School picture day is almost here. Please make sure your student is ready for this day. You should have received a form from this past week.
Seniors - Tuesday, October 6th - ACT at HBC Secondary
Our seniors will be participating in the ACT test on October 6th. There will be preparation done in school for this important assessment. Please encourage your senior to do their best. The senior advisory teachers, Mr. Wiertzema and Mr. Ellingson will have more information for preparing for the ACT.
October. 8th - Parent/Teacher Conferences Secondary - Please mark your calendars for Parent/Teacher Conferences on Thursday, October 8th from 3:45 - 7:15 PM. Information will come soon about our Secondary Conferences plan.
