Our Mission Statement
This organization is committed to the highest quality of education in an uncompromising search for academic excellence by developing a closer connection between school and home. Parent/Guardian involvement is a key component of the HBC PTO, and everyone is encouraged to participate in activities and fund raising efforts helping to draw parents/guardians, students and teachers closer together. The HBC PTO strives to provide additional equipment and supplies to support the education of the students at HBC, as well as provide activities that promote family involvement and participation.

How YOU can become involved
Through the forming of the group, a Board of Directors was established. The current Board meets on a monthly basis. Members of the Board will hold their term for three consecutive years. At the end of their term, the regular PTO membership will have the opportunity to nominate and vote on new officers and Board members. To become a regular member of the PTO, you must pay an annual fee of $5.00. A membership drive will be held each Fall. PTO members will have the opportunity to attend regular PTO meetings, voice ideas and opinions, and participate in volunteer committees. Regular PTO meetings will take place at least twice per year. Notifications of regular PTO meetings will be posted in the H-BC Newsletter and/or the Parent Connection.
History
During the summer of 2010, Mr. Holthaus began asking local parents if they would be interested in starting a PTO at the elementary school. He was able to gather a group of people who were willing to research and explore how to begin a newfound group. After much research, by-laws were written and implemented in January, 2011. The two main fundraisers for the PTO in 2011 included cookie dough and apparel sales. Thanks to the community support, the group was able to use the revenue from these fundraisers to purchase wireless routers for the school, grant educational requests for supplies and programs by the teachers of HBC elementary, assist with teacher and student appreciation activities, and provide banners for the city of Beaver Creek, which will advertise HBC elementary school. The PTO is currently working on a Fall Festival, will take place on November 11. Raffle tickets will be sold and many great prizes will be available. Please come show your support of the students and staff at H-BC Elementary at the Fall Festival this year!
Monetary donations are always welcome. If you would like to make a financial contribution to the PTO, please contact Marie LaRock at 962-3614.
