H-BC Elementary Parent Connection 03.13.2020
Today we had board game day for grades K-2...students came with their game on. Fun was had by all! We had another great week at H-BC Elementary School!
SKATE NIGHT: Skate Night HAS BEEN CANCELLED! NO SKATE NIGHT tonight 03/13/2020.
Kindergarten: COMING THIS NEXT FRIDAY (as of now)...March 20th our Kindergarteners will not have school! No School only for the Kindergarten Class. No School because our next year’s kindergarteners (Current Preschoolers) will be having Kindergarten for a day! Your preschooler will get an invite. Please stay tuned for any further developments.
Other cancellations: Sunday, Open Gym is cancelled for the remainder of the year. The High School Awards meal and presentations, scheduled for Monday, March 16th has been cancelled.
COVID 19 Corona Virus
Here is a letter that was sent out yesterday as related to COVID-19. Also, see below for information in assisting your child in dealing with COVID-19 anxiousness or uncertainty.
Guidelines from the H-BC Nurse, Lois Leenderts
- As always, we recommend that people stay home when sick, cover their cough, and practice good hand hygiene. These recommendations are especially important during this time.
- Students or staff who arrive to school sick (fever greater than 100 or a frequent cough) will be sent home. Students and staff MUST be fever free for 24 hours without the use of medication before returning to school.
- Wash your hands frequently and thoroughly with soap and water. Students and staff need to wash their hands before eating.
- Cover your cough and sneezes.
- When notifying the school that your child will be absent for the day, please inform us why your child will be absent. If they are ill, please report their symptoms.
School Volunteers:
Until further notice, H-BC is not allowing volunteers into the school as a preventative response to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
School Visitors:
All H-BC buildings are under a strict visitor restriction. Call before you come.
H-BC Elementary March Theme Days:
Thursday, March 26th—March Madness—All grades will participate in several gross motor activities in the gym and enjoy a snack. Teamwork is the emphasis of this time.
Swimming: Third through fifth graders swimming has come to an end yesterday 03/12/2020! Great job to all those involved!
