Paraprofessional Recognition Week: The State of MN recognizes Paraprofessional Week. H-BC Elementary has great paraprofessionals! H-BC Elementary Paras: Lisa Durst, Sarah Engelkes, Kirsten Kooistra, Courtney Kruger, Lexi Moore, Sherry Paulsen, Amy Spykerboer, Ashley Syndergaard, and Beth Westerbur.
Congratulations: To H-BC Elementary fourth grader, Lily Top. Lily's drawing for the Sioux Valley Electric Billboard Drawing Contest is one of twelve drawings chosen from schools in the Sioux Valley Electric Area in SW Minnesota and Eastern South Dakota. This Spring three drawings from the twelve will be selected to be placed on three area billboards. Way to go Lily! We are cheering for you!
H-BC Third Quarter Begins: H-BC began its 3rd quarter marking period Tuesday, January 21.
Lifetouch Pictures Day: Thursday, February 6, 2020 Liftetouch Pictures will be coming to take student photos of students.
Grades 2nd Quarter: Student 2nd Quarter Grades were emailed home on Thursday, January 23rd.
K-1 Saturday Basketball: Mr. VanWyhe is running a Saturday Basketball Camp. Students needed to pre-register. Camp for Grades K and 1 begins tomorrow Saturday- 1/25/2020 @ 9 am at HBC Elementary School. Dates: 02/01, 02/08, also 02/22/2020 makeup day from 1/18/2020
2-3 Saturday Basketball: Mr. VanWyhe is continuing with the Saturday Basketball Camp. Students needed to pre-register. Dates: 01/25, 02/01, 02/08, Also Makeup date 2/22/2020 from 01/18/2020.
New Banner: Thank you to Photography by Mark. They donated the banner that is hanging in the Elementary School Commons.
PTO Walk a Thon: Stay tuned...The H-BC Elementary PTO is trying a new way to fundraise for their sponsored events! No items will be sold, but donations will be sought. Information will be sent out on 2/12/2020 with students. Online giving is also an option.
Thank you to Tim Weidenbach and Weston Frank. They shared the Golden Rule with H-BC Elementary Students on Wednesday, January 22.
Pride Store: H-BC Elementary will have its next Pride Store on Friday, February 7. Thank you to the H-BC Elementary PTO! The PTO is assisting in sponsoring the Pride Store this next year. We are quite appreciative!
Liftoff: H-BC Elementary's next all school liftoff assembly for students will be held on Monday, February 3, 2020.
MCA Testing: Grades 3-5 will be taking the MCA Practice Assessments the weeks of January 27 and February 3. Schedules were emailed to parents.
