Scrubbing Grouds
6th grade
artwork - Imagination/Observation
First students had to construct a totally
imaginary face where each shape is interesting
and cut out of colored paper without any
prior drawing. This took one class hour
to complete. The next week, students were
asked to use pencils to draw the constructed
face to get a very close likeness to the
constructed one. Then the drawn version
was to be colored with matching crayon.
They did a very nice job on these.
Silly Contour
Hair-dos
This 5th grade contour line lesson started
out as five to seven random dots placed
on a sheet of 9x12 paper. Lines are drawn
in a continuation from one end of the paper
to the first dot, then second dot, third,
and so on to the other end of the paper.
The faces were drawn on last and color was
optional. Fun to do.
